News Trading

When news trading is allowed, restricted windows on Funded accounts, and the Soft Breach Policy.

News events bring volatility — and opportunity. We allow news trading on Evaluation accounts, but apply strict rules on Funded accounts to protect the simulated environment.

On Evaluation accounts

  • News trading is permitted without time restrictions

  • All standard trading rules still apply (DVL, MVL, consistency, etc.)

  • Use this stage to test your news-trading strategy

On Funded accounts

  • News trading is restricted around red-folder high-impact events

  • You may not open or close trades in the ±5 minute window around scheduled red-folder events

  • Reference calendar: ForexFactory red-folder events

  • A separate Designated High-Impact Events List may apply additional restrictions for specific events (FOMC, NFP, CPI, etc.)

  • Trades opened or closed inside the restricted window are deducted from simulated profit and excluded from Performance Reward request calculations

Soft Breach Policy

  • One accidental in-window trade triggers a warning and exclusion of that trade

  • Repeated violations escalate proportionately

  • A pattern of news-window trading on Funded → account termination

Tips

  • Check the calendar before every session

  • Pay attention to time zones — events publish in UTC

  • If a trade is open near an event window, close it well before

  • News spikes can move price by tens of pips in seconds — even outside the window, manage risk

Important

  • All activity is on simulated capital

  • "Red folder" = high-impact events on ForexFactory; we may publish our own Designated List

  • If unsure whether an event is restricted, ask [email protected] before trading
